A summary of our Summer prayer time, so far:

We pray in praise to God. Why?

Because when we are unable in our lives, God is able.
Because when we feel that the world is against us, we can focus on the creation and remember that God is the creator and loves the creation… including us!
Because when our human relaionships are difficult, we remember that God knows and loves us and won’t let us go.
Because when death stares us is the face, we remember God’s embrace of love.

We pray for wisdom to God. Why?

Because we need to walk in God’s will for our lives… we put ourselves in God’s will to understand what God wants for our lives.
Because we need to grow strong for our times of trouble.
Because we need to enjoy the power of our internal, spiritual life and remember that we experience joy not from our external trappings, but from God’s spirit within us.
Because we remember and trust that God will bless us and give us what we need to live a fulfilled life.

We pray for an understanding of our vocation as Christians. Why?

Because God always works through broken people… like us.
Because we need to receive inspiration to know that we are part of something bigger than our own selves and our own desires.Because we have to understand that God is in charge, not us.
We belong to God. Ministry is not a me thing, it’s a God thing.
Because we need to have a faithful response to God’s call on our lives.
