In the past three years, Heritage Church has been very active,
sharing God's presence in the world.
We have supported varied mission projects including: the Waukesha Women’s Center, matching gifts to all of our PCUSA mission giving, Elena’s house, Elie Cook, PCUSA missionary, Habitat for Humanity, Russian orphan ministry (Key of Hope), the Gathering, CCWC programs, area food pantries, all the wider church offerings including both the Theological fund and Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, seminarian support for Erin Musolf, CROP walk (providing leadership to raise over $40,000 county wide), Milwaukee’s Serenity Inn homeless shelter, support for families in need through the Pastor’s discretionary fund, Tippecanoe Presbyterian with a $5,000 gift in honor of our 50th anniversary, Cancer relay for life, the Aids walk, the Mundakapadam Mandirams Society in India and the work of the wider church through our per capita giving and our General mission giving.
We have been to Montreat with 17 people, participated in Fab 4 worship and joint VBS programming, provided Sunday School programming for a growing Sunday School, provided adult education, have a growing music program and new choir robes from the memorial fund, provided leadership for the Presbytery through hosting the Presbytery Missionary and Fall choir workshops, provided “Care Notes” and “Our Daily Bread” devotionals, sent care packages to our college students, provided quilts and prayer shawls, had innumerable fellowship opportunities, had a great Confirmation class with 7 students, sponsored “Applefest”, sent postcard to new Muskego residents, hosted the Southminster Youth musical, built a church website(www.heritagechurchmuskego.org) and provided space for community groups to meet here (Women for Sobriety and the Muskego AA group).
We have had capital funding projects including: air conditioning, lower level, church office and kitchen renovations, new windows throughout the building, handicapped accessible doors throughout the building, landscaping renovations throughout our property, moving the dumpsters, putting in a new parking lot, installing a new furnace, bringing the church up to fire code, adding exterior lighting at our entrances, providing new toilets in the restrooms and doing manse repairs.
We have received 24 adults (including our 2009 confirmation class) and 5 youth as new members in the last three years and have a fall new member class of 7 adults and 4 children. We have baptized 8 babies and buried 5 faithful members. Our Sunday school has grown by 6 youth.
We have grown from $80,000 to $125,000 in our giving in the past three years.
We believe that these events all say something about who we are at Heritage and where we want to “grow” in the next part of our history.
